History of Ancient Roman Glass

I would like to share with you a little illumination about some of my very favorite jewelry, Ancient Roman Glass. This glass comes from the Holy Land and dates back to the time of Jesus.

Ancient Roman Glass jewelry blends the romance and mystique of an archaic world infused into modern jewelry design, resulting in wearable art history.

Long ago, ancient glass ranked on par with precious gemstones. Almost 2,000 years ago, the Roman Empire was the birthplace of a new glass blowing technique.

Today the ancient glass is being uncovered in archaeological sites in Israel, which was then the major center for glass production. The marvelous colors are a “patina” formed over the centuries of the glass being buried in mineral rich soil.

Presently skilled artisans from Israel are crafting magnificent jewelry designs in gold and silver that echo classic Roman details into a fresh, modern looks. Glass fragments are carefully selected, cleaned and cut to reveal their hidden beauty, and set, making each piece a one-of-a-kind artistic historic treasure.

Each piece of glass is as unique as you are. Roman Glass is an all time favorite with  jewelry lovers everywhere and is a connection to a venerable past civilization. My clients absolutely adore it!
